One of the most prominent journalistic and media leaders of the Yemeni Saba News Agency and an early pioneer of journalism who is credited with developing the journalistic working environment and improving the performance of media institutions over the past four decades. The deceased, may God have mercy on him, stood out for his humility, his closeness to his colleagues and his love for them, as well as his constant presence at their side and monitoring their activities in the different stages of their work. Dozens of journalists were trained under him inside and outside the agency, and his long experience was available to all who wished to benefit from it in his field of journalistic and media work. He ensured that the agency’s professional performance was distinct from that of all official media institutions. According to him, the agency is the first media and journalistic interface through which Yemen addresses the rest of the world, and its journalistic staff must benefit from all means that help them develop their professional capabilities and keep pace with modern requirements and media changes that accompany the digital and electronic space.

The late Rajeh Al-Jaboubi joined the Yemeni Saba News Agency around the mid-1970s, and he rose through the ranks of his position – from the press department to becoming vice-chairman of the agency’s board of directors and deputy editor-in-chief. During the stages of his work, his journalistic abilities constantly developed, and his work was not limited to a specific field, but rather included all specializations of journalistic work, technical, administrative and financial aspects, public relations, training, etc., in addition to his focused and sometimes critical political writings, with He was keen not to enter into disputes, disputes or political battles with any of the political parties on the national scene. He pledged to show moderation in everything, despite being one of the leaders of the ruling General People’s Congress Party in recent years.

The late Rajeh Al-Jaboubi was also one of the union leaders who worked at the Journalists’ Union Council for more than three election cycles. He was an example of a committed and dedicated trade unionist. He remained sympathetic to the sufferings of his colleagues, supported their rights and problems, and largely subscribed to their journalistic demands by creating an appropriate journalistic climate and breaking all restrictions that hinder the development of their professional work. The deceased, may God have mercy on him, remained faithful to his work within the agency and the union, and lived in compliance with the rules and ethics. The journalistic profession throughout its years of service, and its efforts have been continuous to unify and develop union work so as to ensure the unity and cohesion of journalists and the continuation of their activity without restrictions or barriers that hinder their progress or limit their journalistic activities.

In his final years, his late fellow journalist Rajeh Al-Juboubi, “may God have mercy on him,” lived a difficult life with an illness that left him bedridden for years. He was unable to obtain the necessary medical care after more than forty years at the court of His Majesty “the press” and in the neglect of the official and concerned authorities – and in the most serious stages of the political conflict that the country is going through, where many state institutions witnessed a complete cessation of their work, including the Yemeni Saba news agency, in which the deceased Al-Juboubi served, which caused him suffering. He suffered from numerous illnesses and a state of neglect and betrayal by all political parties, until he left our world on December 6, 2015 AD.

May God have mercy on him and make him dwell in his spacious paradise. Al-Fatihah
